Travel Articles

Ever since the training wheels came off her first bicycle, Julie Hammonds has loved setting out on the road. Her journeys have included solo road trips, peak-bagging hikes, campouts and sea kayaking adventures. Now she's most often found exploring Arizona's wild places on assignment for Arizona Wildlife Views magazine.

Some of her travel articles for Views are available here:

In 2006 Julie's article "A Twist of Fate" appeared in Sea Kayaker magazine. Julie has also written articles for the Anchorage Daily News and the Juneau Empire, as well as content for the travel website Trazzler.

Website exclusive: Julie's travel essay "Leaning Left Above the Eiger" is an excerpt from an unpublished travel memoir about her six-month European solo in 2003. It won a gold Solas award from Travelers' Tales.
